Each time you log in to Mobile POS, a Select POS Device window is displayed. 

The Organisation and Venue fields are typically fixed, unless your user account has access to more than one. 

Every Mobile POS session must be linked to a POS DeviceThese are venue specific. The linked device is usually claimed for the duration of the user’s session and becomes available again after logout. 

An initial Location selection is also required to determine menu, item, and pricing. The location can be changed at any time during the session if you move between locations. 

 

Changing the Location, Venue or Organisation 

You can update your Organisation, Venue, or Location directly from the Select a POS Device screen. After logging in, you’ll be prompted to select a POS device. If you’re already logged in, you can access this screen anytime via the hamburger menu (top left) by selecting POS Device & Location 

From there, use the edit option next to the current venue and location to open Change Location Settings, where you can update your Organisation, Venue, and Location as needed. Because these fields follow a hierarchy, it’s recommended to update them from top to bottom. 

 

Claiming an In Use POS device 

When selecting a POS device, you can choose either an available device or one that is already claimed by another user. 

If you select an in-use device, you will be prompted to Confirm the selection. 

The other user’s device will display a popup advising of the claim. That user must then select a new POS device before continuing Mobile POS operations. It is possible for the user to reselect the same device, which will repeat this sequence. 

Note: The number of POS devices available is determined by your venue’s licensing. Contact your Account Manager or email sales@hlpos.com for more information.
