Using Modifiers with Items in Menu Management

Using Modifiers with Items

About

Items can be linked to modifiers to allow H&L and 3rd party applications to determine what modifiers can be applied to Items. This is done through Modifier Group assignment to Items.

When using Sysnet On Premise to upload modifiers, Modifier Groups will be uploaded, and Modifier Items will be assigned to them.

You can review or adjust Modifier Groups by:

  1. Navigating to the Modifier Groups page.

  2. Click a Modifier Group to view its details.

  3. Using the +X, and  buttons to add, remove, or reorder Modifier Items in the group.

To create a Modifier Group:

  1. Click the + button to add a new Modifier Group.

  2. Click the Enter Modifier Group Name field and give the Modifier Group a descriptive name.

  3. Enter the minimum and maximum qty of modifiers. Applications use this to enforce rules around how many modifiers can be selected from the Modifier Group.

  4. Enter the maximum qty of an individual modifier. Applications use this to enforce the maximum qty of any individual modifier from the Modifier Group.

  5. Enter an Internal Name. This can be used to provide a more descriptive name to the item that is not displayed to the customer.

  6. From the Modifier Items section click the + button to assign Modifier Items to this Modifier Group.

  7. Tick the checkbox next to each Item you want to add to this range.

  8. Click Save Changes in the top right corner of the Assign Modifier Item page.

  9. Click Save Changes in the top right corner or the Modifier Group detail page.

Important: When using Sysnet On Premise, while it is also possible to manually add Modifier Groups/Items directly in the Menu Management Application, this is not recommended. Instead, add these in via the Sysnet On Premise Stock module, then upload them using the Menu Management Exporter application or service.

To link Modifier Groups to an item:

  1. Navigate to the Items page.

  2. Click the desired Item to view its details.

  3. Click the + button to the right of Modifier Groups.

  4. Tick the checkbox next to one or more Modifier Groups you wish to link this Item to.

  5. Click Save Changes in the top-right corner. The linked Modifier Group(s) will now be listed.

  6. Click the  icon in the Modifier Items column and select the Modifiers you want to enable as part of the Modifier Group link to the Item.

  7. Click Save Changes in the top-right corner.
