How to Count Stocktakes with Stock Mobile

About 

Within Stock Mobile, available with Sysnet Cloud, the Count Stocktakes function provides a streamlined method to create, count, and process stocktakes, all from the convenience of your mobile device.  


This guide will walk you through: 

  • Creating or Resuming a Stocktake 
  • Entering Item Counts 
  • Viewing and Editing Counted Items 
  • Processing the Completed Stocktake 
  • Viewing Historical Stocktakes

Create a stocktake 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Count Stocktakes. 

  2. Tap Create New Stocktake.

  3. Select the stocktake location, then tap Continue.

  4. Select the required stock groups, then tap Continue.

Enable or disable range selection for stock groups 

  1. To enable range selection, long tap the first required stock group until the Range select enabled tooltip appears. 

  2. To disable range selection, tap the previously selected stock group twice. 

 

Resume a stocktake 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Count Stocktakes. 

  2. Locate and tap the required stocktake. 

 

Re-prepare a stocktake 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Count Stocktakes. 

  2. Locate the required stocktake and tap the Ellipsis menu in the top right of the card.

  3. Select Re-prepare. 

 

Process a stocktake 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Count Stocktakes. 

  2. Locate the required stocktake and tap the Ellipsis menu in the top right of the card. 

  3. Select Process. 

 

Print stocktake reports 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Count Stocktakes. 

  2. Locate the required stocktake and tap the Ellipsis menu in the top right of the card.
  3. Select Print Report. 

 

Delete a stocktake 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Count Stocktakes.
  2. Locate the required stocktake and tap the Ellipsis menu in the top right of the card. 

  3. Select Delete. 

View stock groups for an existing stocktake 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Count Stocktakes. 
  2. Locate the required stocktake and tap the Stock Groups pill on the card. 

 

View completed stocktakes 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Count Stocktakes. 
  2. Tap the Stocktakes History tab.
  3. Locate the required stocktake and tap the card to view the details. 

 

Configure the scanner type 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the User Profile icon in the top right of the application.
  2. Select the appropriate scanner mode for the current device. 

 

Count a stock item 

  1. From the Count screen within a stocktake, locate a stock item by scanning the barcode or searching by item description.
  2. Optionally, change the factor to count by selecting a value from the drop down list. 
  3. Optionally, tap the blank field between the - and + buttons to focus the entry field and display the keypad if required. 
  4. Enter the quantity counted. 
  5. Press Enter on the keypad, or tap Save. 

    (Pressing Enter does not work on iOS.) 

 

Adjust a stock count 

  1. From the Count screen, locate the count to adjust in the Count History list. 
  2. Tap the Reverse Count icon (circular arrows) for the count you want to adjust. 
  3. Tap Yes to confirm reversing the selected count. 
  4. Enter a new count if required. 

 

Review stocktake items 

  1. From the Count screen within a stocktake, tap Stocktake Items. 
  2. Sort the Counted items list by tapping the Sort icon and selecting a sorting method. 
  3. Review the counted items for standout anomalies as required. 
  4. Tap any item in the Counted or Uncounted lists to add or adjust its count. 

 

 



Points to Notes

  • By default, Stock Mobile does not show the current stock on hand when entering counts. You can enable this feature by selecting the Show Stock on Hand Quantities in Stocktakes option in the Settings and Configuration module under the Venue tab. A user with the Stock Mobile - Full Access role (or similar) is required to save any changes in the Settings and Configuration module.


  • In progress or processed stocktakes in Sysnet Cloud are not viewable or editable in the on-premises modules, and vice versa. Adjusted item quantities and values from processed stocktakes are synchronised between Sysnet Cloud and On-Premise databases.

    Sysnet Cloud processed stocktakes will be visible in the on-premise Stock (Inventory) > History tab, and adjustments from processed stocktakes will be reflected in the on-premise Cost of Goods and Stock Movement reports.



  • Stock Mobile is designed to provide a streamlined and simplified experience. It does not include all the options or reporting functionality available in the on-premise product. Future Sysnet Cloud modules will offer more configuration and reporting features.
